The Snowqueen Photoshoot was once again with the amazingly talented Photographers Jade Greenbrooke, Amy Kolsteren and Model Emily Isis Hardisty. These ladies was once again a delight to work with, as looking back now I found with my first few shoots I was slowy with my application as I over thought everything wanting it to be perfect but even though I had pre-planned the look along with a facechart I still found myself doubting what I had created but with the support of the team they put their trust in me to create the image they want as much as I trust them to create fantastic pictures.

So with the look being ‘Snowqueen’ this is clearly not going to be your everyday going out look, yipppeee, and my chance to get creative!! Model Emily has a beautiful natural pale complexion suiting the characters design, along with No7 Matte Primer I applied my MAC Studio Fix Foundation giving Emily the full coverage as being a location shoot we had no control over lack of or too much lighting, but this foundation has a great coverage for shoots, I wouldn’t recommend for everyday where as in my opinion it tends to sit a little heavy on the skin. For the eyes this was an experiment for myself for I exaggerated the shadow Sleek Palette UV 1 to up to the brow and extended it to a little under the eye. I wanted the eyes to look dramatic and looking back now I would have done a lot more different but for my first character creation I did ok for the eyes look dramatic and has the softness to them making the characteristic of the queen more looming than harshly evil. Followed by my favourite eyeliner MAC Crème in Black I created a thick line on the top lid with a slight flick, followed by MAC Zoom Lash in Black, which now I’m not a fan of as its very gloopy which creates spider eyes in one stroke not a gradual build up which I prefer, followed by some fab fake lashes to complete her eyes.
I used a Barbie pink blush Sleek Pink Lemonade And MAC Spiced Lip Pencil for a neutral tone on Emily’s lips, (Before foundation i preped Emily's lips with Carmex) I wanted to keep them a natural tone for two reasons, one if I went too light it would look fake and almost corpse like and two if I went dark the characteristic would change into possibly a more seductive character. I then went over the lips with a natural colour Sleek Browns Cappuccino. To finish I couldn’t wait to use the fake snow I had purchased in Brighton back in April (2014) at a local craft shop and with the simple adhesive of Vaseline I added clumps of snowflakes to add to the fantasy look, which I believe worked well.

To finish I backcombed Emily’s hair and created a sort of beehive with accessories of flowers and headband completing the final look.
On shoot all went well keeping an eye on touch ups and wandering hairs it’s always a joy to work with this team and overall I’m happy what we all achieved and most importantly they were happy! This is a team I hope to work with again and again!
